According to most people who work with church planters, there is general agreement that church planters are unique ministry leaders with unique gifts. They have to be to get the work done!
According to Dr. Charles Ridley, those unique gifts include: being an entrepreneur (able to start new things), vision casting, intrinsically motivated, relates to the unchurched, strong faith, supportive spouse, manages family well, builds relationships effectively, responsive to the community, able to delegate, flexible and adaptable, builds strong teams, good communicator, and is resilient. (Whew! What a list)
