CL Audience
The Christian Leader is a gathering place for the people, passions and mission of U.S Mennonite Brethren. The magazine seeks to inform, instruct and inspire dialogue so that adult readers in all life stages will aspire to be faithful disciples of Christ as understood in the evangelical/Anabaptist theological traditions.
The CL is a national magazine, published bimonthly and mailed to approximately 10,000 homes.

Letters must be signed and include the writer’s city and state. Letters will be edited for clarity, appropriateness and length. Letters will be published as space allows unless marked “not for publication.”
In My Humble Opinion OR First Person: What we look for
- Does this essay meet our word count? The word count for in My Humble Opinion and First Person is 575 words.
- Does this essay offer a unique perspective?
- What is the tone of the essay? Is it too “preachy?” We’re looking for articles written in a conversational tone that apply the material to the writer while also including and inviting the reader to consider the content.
- Does the essay do more than provide information or tell a story?
- Does it challenge or motivate Christians in their faith?
- Do the writing details need attention (i.e. spelling, grammar, transitional sentences, word use, etc.)?
- Does the essay reflect Anabaptist/evangelical theology?
Submitting an article
Essays submitted to the editors for In My Humble Opinion and First Person will be evaluated according to the above criteria. Not all submissions will be accepted for publication.
