Since 1969 the Historical Commission has been charged with the collection and preservation of historical materials relating to the Mennonite Brethren churches of the United States and Canada.The Commission remains committed to cultivating awareness of our history and an appreciation of the many ways in which God has used our MB family, our churches and its agencies to build his kingdom over the past 150 years.

The Historical Commission serves as a coordinating agency between the various Mennonite Brethren regional archival centers as well as the Historical Commissions of the international Mennonite Brethren church. Current projects include the writing of a global MB history, to be translated into a number of languages. Other ongoing projects are the Profiles series highlighting MB leaders from our global family, and GAMEO, the Global Anabaptist Mennonite Encyclopedia Online (www.gameo.org), the online resource comparable to an MB Wikipedia.
